One thing the Gerudo are known for is their mixology. They may be fighters, but they also enjoy relaxing with a good drink. The exotic, flavorful fruits that grow in the Gerudo region definitely make it easier to develop the drinks they do. One Gerudo in particular, Furosa, who owns the Noble Canteen in Gerudo Town, is renowned for her mixology skills. Her specialty is the Noble Pursuit, which is made from a blend of the juices from the hydromelon, voltfruit, and palm fruit. Ice from their subterranean desert ice house is also a key ingredient, making the beverage nice and cold. The sweetness of the fruit combined with the creaminess of the palm make for a delicious and refreshing cold drink, perfect for the warmer climate.
Below I have included a recipe that uses actual watermelon and dragonfruit to make the drink. I recommend dicing the watermelon and dragonfruit into small cubes to get as much fruit into the measuring cups as possible. You can opt to use watermelon juice and dragon fruit juice instead. If you are using juice, I would recommend using 4 oz of watermelon juice and 2 oz of dragonfruit juice in place of the fruit measurements below. Additionally, you may choose to leave out the simple syrup to avoid making the drinks too sweet of you are using bottled juices. This makes one large glass (or two small glasses) of Noble Pursuit. Multiply the recipe as needed for more drinks. This drink can also be made as a sort of non alcoholic tropical punch by leaving out the rum.
Ingredients
1 cup watermelon, diced
½ cup dragonfruit, diced
1 oz lime juice
2 oz simple syrup
2 oz white rum
2 oz coconut milk

Before making the drink, we first need a little simple syrup to help sweeten it. In a small pot over low heat add 1/4 cup water and 1/4 cup sugar. Stir quickly to fully dissolve the sugar into the water to create a syrup. Remove the simple syrup from the heat and allow it to cool. You will only need 2 ounces of this syrup for this drink.
Add the diced watermelon and diced dragonfruit to a blender and blend on high until the fruit is completely puréed. This should only take a few seconds. Strain the seeds and pulp into a bowl through a mesh strainer. You should have roughly 6 ounces of fruit juice (a little less is fine).
Add ice to a cocktail shaker and then Pour in the juice. Add the cooled simple syrup, lime juice coconut milk, and rum. Place the lid on the shaker, and shake until everything is fully blended.
To serve, pour the drink into a tall glass through the strainer in the cocktail shaker. Add a wedge of watermelon on the side and two or three small mint leaves to the top of the drink to garnish.
